Spending Diamonds!!

Hi,

Yes, I spent a lot of Diamonds this week. What on? Well, expansion space for the new event buildings from the Soccer Event, that's what. Oh yeah, I could have waited for the expansions from Medals or when I decided to take them up to different eras, but they were nowhere near either, I think these event buildings will be great. I bought expansion space on Dunarsund, Houndsmoor, and Sinerania for Diamonds. On my other worlds, I managed to shoe-horn in the event buildings in current space. Even on my Tiny Town.

East-Nagach - No expansions!

It's a great boon for my tiny city. I don't need the Tavern now, so that will free up space for the Statue of Zeus (working on getting Blueprints for it). This city is now at the end of Iron Age, and only has one goods building of each age, but the soccer event has been great for getting goods.

This world is the furthest behind on the quests, having a hard time with the defeat army and defeat units ones. My other worlds are making great progress on the quest line, and are already up to about quest 24 or 25.

The one thing I don't really like about the soccer event is that it doesn't pay to save up all energy drinks and spend them when the special for Training is a Wishing Well. I would have liked to have done that on Dunarsund and Sinerania. As it is, it's best to train as much as possible and then play in the Tournament every day. This has put all my cities in at least the Bronze League. But thinking about it now, what would the harm be of not being so high in the league? Well, I guess I'd miss out on an Event building upgrade. I think I made the decision that maxed out buildings was more important than concentrating on Wishing Wells. They'll all get one from the event any way.

The FP trade threads are still being used on all worlds and GBs are getting leveled that way. There wasn't a lot of GE this week, because of the Soccer Event, and I didn't make any Diamonds on it. No world went to a new era this week. Brisgard is at the end of Industrial now, and East-Nagach is at the end of Iron Age.

Something a Bit Different!!

Hi,

After looking at the FOE forums (which I do quite a lot), I came across something that really interested me. It was the TinyTown/Smallville thread. It was all about progressing a city without using any expansions at all. Just the initial space you're given. So, I started a new city on East-Nagach. If you remember, this was a world I played on a few months ago, but then deleted the city. No deleting the city this time, at least not yet :)

I've just moved to the Iron Age, and Am in the process of building a few cottages and a couple of Butchers. I have 4 Blacksmiths and a couple of Fruit Farms too. I don't have any GBs yet, but will be aiming for some before I leave the Iron Age. This should be a fun challenge. Slow and steady will win the race :)

On Brisgard, I'm still not quite to the end of Industrial era, spending a lot of FPs in swap threads to level my ARC. It's level 6 now, and I'm working on level 7. Colonial goods are still a major issue for advancing in the tech tree, and also on GE/GBG and on the Continent map too. Yuck. I really moved up to early. I should have made sure to have about 1000 of them before I moved up. Current age goods are not a problem with all you get from Great Buildings, and Special Event Buildings.

Overall, over all the Worlds, I didn't get a heck of a lot of GE done this week, and so the Diamond production was a bit low. I did get to above 4000 though, now sitting at 4090. I placed another Wishing Well this week, on one of my Iron Age cities. There are a couple more in inventory where there is no room in the cities for them. I really think I may spend Diamonds soon on expansion space. It's taking too long to get medals to get them.

Well, the Soccer Event has been finally announced, and starts Tomorrow!! I can't say I'm too excited about it. The overall prize buildings look really good, but need to be self motivated and I really don't like when there's not a single building. I'll probably play the heck out of the event, but maybe have the buildings in inventory after it's over. I still quite a few Worlds Fair selection kits on certain worlds from the last event :)

Loving FP Swap Threads!!

Well, I think I'm pretty much done contributing to my own Great Buildings. The Guild FP Swap Threads are where it's at for me now. OK, you don't get an immediate boost to your GB, but it comes eventually. Also, there's a chance to place in the top 5 of their Great Building, and get some more FPs, Medals, and/or BPs. They are great. Say I have 12 FPs. I put 10 into a 10 FP Swap Thread, and then put 2 into my GB. It works very nicely. I've also bought a lot of FPs with gold, to round to 10 or something when I have almost the number required. I'm doing this on all worlds now. I'm not spending stored FPs yet, just FPs as I get them.

I've pretty much taken a week off from trying to do any serious GE this week, so my Diamond production was way down. But I also avoided spending any on negotiations, except for about 20 on negotiations for Dailies this week. I only got to GE2 and GE3 this week, and didn't make any Diamonds at all. The sweet spot is completing GE3 and GE4.

Here's a look at Brisgard now, which a lot of re-organization. Lots more Industrial age stuff, although I haven't hit the end of Industrial yet. Soon though.

Brisgard, re-organized

There was a supply issue again, with so many being required for so many techs. That's pretty much under control now, as I've switched to leveling buildings for a while.

On all my other Worlds, I've just continued to do the daily, do some GE fighting, do some GBG fighting etc. and get their goods ready for a real push at GE next week. In fact, that's probably what I'll do from now on. One week of lots of GE, and the next week just fighting.

I don't think there are any new GBs this week. I can build ToR on Dunarsund, but don't have room for it. I'm really thinking of moving to the next era to get some more expansion space there.

More Great Buildings!!

Another week gone and some more Great Buildings to talk about. On Brisgard, I am moving slowly from a pure negotiator to a fighter. To that end, I added Cath of Achen to go with the Statue of Zeus. It's coming along nicely, but they have taken a back seat to moving through the tech tree. Here's a look again at my town on Brisgard:

The other thing I've been doing on Brisgard is converting buildings over to the Industrial era ones. I've built some Residential and Production and now have Rifleman and Jaeger camps. The boosts from SoZ and CoA are not enough to do much of GE, and with goods needed for Techs and the Continent map, I didn't get far into GE3 this week. Oh I got ToB again too. I was so stupid for deleting it a couple of months ago.

However, on the 3 fighting worlds, I made good progress and got to GE4 on all of them, not completing it, but getting far enough to get the most out of it for Diamonds. Diamonds went up to 3610 this week. That's 455 this week. I didn't spend any other than the 10 at a time on Negotiations. I'm really thinking of spending on extra Rogue slots on all my worlds, and maybe some expansions when the Soccer Cup event goes live. In particular, I'm prevented from building Tower of Relics on Dunarsund.

On my other two EMA fighting worlds, I got the BPs for Castel Del Monte. I traded for goods, and got them constructed. So they both have room for both CDM and ToR. But Dunarsund is my main Wishing Well world, and so there's not enough room.

Talking of Wishing Wells, I think I added a couple this week, and probably one more Fountain of Youth. I'll see, when I add them all up. Actually, no more Wishing Wells, but 2 more Fountains.

My two Iron Age cities are doing OK, and getting their SoZ and ToB higher. They only got to GE2 this week. It seems that the issues staying in Iron Age are: 1. No Antiques Dealer. 2. Lack of space. We'll see how pressing these issues become over time.

Over 3000 Diamonds!!

Yes! I got 445 Diamonds this week from various sources. GE was great again. Lots of opportunities for Diamonds, especially in GE4. I also got some from Guild Battlegrounds, which I think I did more this week than ever before.

On Brisgard, I moved up to the Industrial Era, but got a bit stuck on the tech tree because of all the goods it required from the previous era. Yeah, I know I didn't prepare properly. So many goods required for both the Continents map, and the Tech Tree. I'm finally getting all the trades done to enable me to move up the tech tree a bit.

So, I didn't get much GE done on Brisgard. Only to level 2 I think. I just couldn't spend the goods this week. Next week, I'll be using Colonial and Industrial goods. This will be better because I'm getting tons of IA goods from Special Buildings, and I've left a couple of buildings in Colonial era for goods in that era too. I'm pumping out Riflemen now for battles, but need to unlock more for the first parts of GE.

On both Cirgard and Noarsil, I got the BPs for Tower of Babel, after putting tons of FPs into other people's to get the BPs. This, along with 1K Medals to get an extra 4x4 square, allowed me to build it on both worlds.

Something bad happened on Sinerania this week. I was doing fine in the Evermore guild. I really liked it, but it isn't a very big guild. Then, late in the week, I was posting some trades to get enough goods to push through the end of GE4. It all went pear-shaped. My trades went un-filled, and I couldn't do the rest of GE4. So, I decided to join a better, more fully-formed guild. I joined the top guild that allowed 'join'. It's called Aftermath. As soon as I had the ability to post trades there, they got snapped up quickly. Oh well.

Thinking about the future, I might level Dunarsund and Sinerania up and have them as Wishing Well farms, or hybrid Wishing Well farms. I'm going to keep Cirgard and Noarsil in the Iron Age, and see if I can get them to complete GE4 any time soon.

That's about for this week. Thinking about the next special event, it's the 2020 Soccer Cup. The prize building is X by 4. Where x is at least 5, and is probably more like 8 or so. This is plunderable, and low down in the motivation list. I really might give this a miss (just have the prizes in my inventory) or all worlds, as I really hate Special event prizes that are not single buildings. Next week, we'll move further into Industrial on Brisgard, and hopefully make many more Diamonds!
